As this video demonstrates, changing your car’s engine computer can be a lot less complicated than one might think. While it is a vital part of an engine’s functionality, their modular design means they can be swapped out relatively easily. The host in the video, Scotty Kilmer, is very charismatic and entertaining as he explains the steps involved. He uses a Lexus LS400 with a rich burning engine as an example for the computer swap.<\/p>\n

In less than three minutes, Kilmer demonstrates how easy it can be to repair a major problem with a car. The tricky part is diagnosing the computer issue in the first place. Using a scan tool, he was able to read a diagnostic code indicating the computer was the issue.<\/p>\n
