Paul Revere and The Raiders was a popular American rock band in the late 1960’s. Pontiac decided to combine the success of the band with the rugged outdoors of a Western desert to promote its 1969 Pontiac GTO known as “The Judge.”<\/p>\n
This video is a classic 1969 Pontiac GTO The Judge television commercial in which Paul Revere and The Raiders, dressed up in attire similar to that worn by English judges, sing about the arrival of The Judge and its features as the car speeds across the desert toward the camera.<\/p>\n
In some ways the video is a hybrid between a commercial and music video. The band receives only slightly less time on-screen than the car and the scenes cut back and forth in unique ways that set it off from more traditional car commercials. The band ends the commercial by telling the viewer that “The Judge will rule.”<\/p>\n
