Look into the history of automobiles and you’ll find many models which have been lost to the winds of time. Take the Dodge Polara as an example. From the early to mid 1960s the Polara was Dodge’s main full-size vehicle which came in several body variations including sedan, station wagon, and convertible. In fact, from 1965 to 1970, the Polara was the only full-sized convertible produced by Dodge.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, like the prom queen who puts on a bit of weight after high school, the Polara was knocked down to leftover status in 1968 when the Monaco became the prime full-sized vehicle promoted by Dodge. The Polara dropped out of site in 1973. Still, as seen in this 1969 commercial, the elegance and driving style of the Polara was highlighted. There’s even a slight double entendre from the museum curator in the commercial.<\/p>\n
