You\u2019re probably wondering when is the last time you\u2019ve seen a Mazda in the racing lineup. The RX-7 and RX-8 are classics. Most recently, Mazda and Toyota have formed a partnership to share technologies. So, what are the advantages of a rotary engine, racing or not? First, it was designed with few moving parts than a piston engine. For its size a rotary engine packs a punch. Its engine usually likes to stay high in the RPM ranges.<\/p>\n

There are a few downsides to the rotary engine. The most common complaints are that it eats gas and burns oil. Rotary engines don\u2019t necessarily produce a lot of torque. They can also be a problem in colder climates. Their engine seals tend to fail. Engine and other parts are also expensive, and somewhat hard to come by.
