Dodge History: An incredibly interesting journey

Thanks to the wonders of the internet, you do not have to look anywhere other than Wikipedia to find out the incredible history behind Dodge. The information there will take you all the way back in time to the Dodge brothers, where the journey of Dodge began. It also contains an extensive time line that will allow you to see the history of Dodge and their vehicles.

Did you know?

Have you ever wondered how the ram became the symbol used on all of Dodge’s trucks? Back in 1932 to 1954, Avard T. Fairbanks had been hired to come up with an interesting design. He first started with as many powerful animals and mythological creatures that he could think of. However after thinking things through, he presented a drawing of a Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep to Mr. Chrysler as a potential candidate.

When asked for the reasoning behind this animal, Fairbanks told Mr. Chrysler that it was because of how sure footed this creature was and that it was definitely the king of any mountain trail. The trucks got the name Dodge, due to this creature as well. Fairbanks proposed that if you were ever charged by one of these animals all you would think to do is DODGE it! Ever since then, the ram has been the symbol for all of their tough Dodge trucks.

Pretty interesting facts, wouldn't you agree?
