Automobile manufacturers have made plenty of different vehicles through the years. This video provides a unique look at The “Henry J” by Kaiser-Frazer.
The video features a series of classic 1951 TV commercials that promote the Henry J. Unlike car ads during the late 1960’s, for example, many early 50’s car ads featured a “news-style” tone that made a salesman’s pitch always seem like a news segment designed to provide reliable information.
Enjoy this open a window into the past that shows why viewers were interested in the Henry J at the time. In these black-and-white commercials, the salesman emphasized the Henry J’s affordable low-cost design that included sturdy and supposedly reliable parts. The Henry J was also “reported” as able to handle rough and uneven terrain and offer comfort and style for up to five people on long trips better than other vehicles while being essentially a compact car.
