This video features a classic 1968 Pontiac GTO commercial that starts with a classic TV portrayal of a city bank heist. Yet, in this commercial, the heist does not go quite as planned because the getaway car won’t start up. The bank robbers immediately run to the nearby Pontiac dealership to steal a car. When a robber asks the salesman if he has a car that “moves,” he immediately mentions the Pontiac GTO.
The salesman fails to realize that he is not being asked to allow someone to take the car for a test drive and soon he is giving his pitch from the back of the GTO while the robbers are trying to speed away.
The robbers eventually decide to dump him. What happens next is a surprise, but fits in perfectly with the idea that the GTO is a steal because of its many features and low cost.
