Latin America and American Southwest music has often been used for different types of on-screen advertising – especially ads for cars that have Spanish words as part or all of their names.
This video features a classic 1969 Ford Mustang Grande TV commercial that starts with the camera focused on a peaceful pond as slow and sultry guitar notes fill the air. The camera then pans to a silver-blue Mustang Grande hardtop parked nearby.
The narrator announces “Color this one cool” right as the sound picks up with more notes and maracas. As the commercial continues, the narrator explains all the reasons that Ford believes you as the viewer will love this car, including the fact that Ford considered it at the time as a “Cool counterpoint to the blazing Mach 1.”
