The Lincoln Futura was original even by the standards of the 1950’s. It featured two, clear canopies and opted for a futuristic look; thus its name. Batman’s vehicle, 1966, was custom made and delivered. The 1958 Ford X-2000 was a sight to behold. Remember, back then, form didn’t necessarily follow function. But, that was the style and it was well received. The Alpha Romeo Bat 5 actually had a shape that addressed air flow and aerodynamics.
It was actually quite the hit in its time. Lamborghini Estoque – 2008 is a mystery as to why it never made the production line. It was way ahead of its time and can compete on looks with any car on the road today. One can only imagine what’s under the hood. The Mazda Furai – 2007 probably didn’t make production because it looks too much like a race car. I’m seriously wondering if there’s room for golf clubs. There’s such a thing as being too advanced to be practical.
