This is Porsche’s first electric sports car. The creation of a new vehicle is an amazing thing to watch. First, you start producing sketches as a team—creativity in motion. Then, the sketches are made and shown in specific intervals. Then a 1/3 scale model of each sketch is produced. Interesting how this is done. The model is produced first, then engineers decide how the vehicle will be built. The design is smooth because the car can be built without a traditional engine.
Note how they decided to route air around the front of the vehicle. One of the most important elements of their design was to create a vehicle that was clearly recognizable as a Porsche. That’s a good thing and happens to be a mistake made by too many car manufacturers today. When you can’t tell that a Mercedes is a Mercedes, or a Jeep is a Jeep, something is wrong. Check out the video. There’s a lot of good information about vehicle design here.
