In the history of automobiles, Dodge is legendary! Few companies have withstood the tests of time and adjusted to the changing landscape of car manufacturing as well as Dodge. In 1864, John Francis Dodge was born. A few years later, in 1868, his younger brother Horace Elgin Dodge was born. The two of them joined forces in 1913 to form the Dodge Brothers Motor Company. In 1914, they produced Touring Cars that were sold at the surprising price of $785. Later iconic models include the Fast Four in 1917, as well a the Dodge Custom D-24. To help the Allies during World War 2, Dodge ramped up vehicle production.
Initially, the official slogan was “Dependability, the Dependables.” In terms of more recent changes, Dodge’s headline slogan has faced a flurry of changes. In 1968, the slogan was altered to “Dodge Fever.” Next, in 1970, it was changed to “You could be Dodge material.” In subsequent years, the slogan was changed again and again, with lines including “An American revolution,” “Dodge. Different,” and “The new Dodge.” At the moment, the latest slogan is “Born Dodge.”
