Snowboarders are a different breed. The sport has an interesting history. It’s believed that the sport was born in 1929 when a gentleman named Jack Burchett decided to try surfing downhill on a plank of plywood.
All it took was a clothesline and some horse reigns to pull it off. The Hague Pro Freestyle showcases the formidable talents of some of the top snowboarders in the world. The course might be a little “iffy” considering an infinite variety of layouts, but it’s exciting to watch because the pure talent is obvious.
It’s a fast course and a short run. This means that the snowboarders have to think fast and creative. People quite often make the assumption that snowboarding is a sport for kids that have never quite grown up. That is the furthest thing from the truth.
