The host in this video makes a good point. Mechanics are thought of as gearheads and grease monkeys etc., but one thing you don’t hear a lot is “female mechanic.” There just don’t seem to be a lot of them around. That could be chancing though. Check out this woman, she’s sharp. She even sounds like she knows what she’s doing. Now contract to the average guy mechanic! She almost sounds like a professor giving a college lecture. That’s a good thing. She got motivated to be a mechanic from having been taken advantage of.
It’s unfair but there is an underlying assumption that women can’t handle the job as well as men. That’s changing in the world. There are amazing women welders, fighter pilots, vehicle mechanics, trucker drivers, and others who represent a whole slew of professions. In fact, they’re raising the standard in smarts and customer service. Check out the video. If you’re a woman and you like getting your hands greasy, this could be an inspiration to do something with your talent.
