It’s spring, for the most part for places in the world where people drive, but the safety tips on car seats apply anywhere, and during anytime of the year. It might sound scientific and over the top, but here’s the jist of it. Strapping children in cars seats with fluffy clothing is a bad idea. Parents strap their children in and assume that straps are tight. Upon impact, the air will be sucked out of the child’s fluffy attire in the blink of an eye.
The result is way too much slack in the straps that were intended to protect and hold the child in during impact. That extra slack is what can do considerable harm to children, or adults for that matter. It’s better to brave a little cold than to buckle up with fluffy attire. Just keep that in mind the next time you’re thinking how cute the baby looks in his or her fluffy coat.
