Video That Explains Why Black Cars Actually Do Get Hotter

Do black cars really get hotter? It’s a good question, and deserves a good answer. Yes, black cars get hotter, and it’s actually a scientific study that backs this fact. Even in 2011, a study conducted by Berkeley found that lighter colored vehicles used less gas than darker vehicles. Black car owners have to run their air conditioners more often, and this results in a decrease of at least 2% in fuel efficiency.

It might even surprise you that California legislators, in 2008, wanted to propose a ban on new black vehicles in the state. Their reasoning was that the decrease in fuel consumption would lower overall carbon dioxide emissions. No doubt, it’s a controversial question. What would be next? Boats, houses, and clothing? Or, does it make sense in some kind of strange way? Go ahead and voice your opinion as to whether black cars should be banned.
