Tesla Model S P85D vs Dodge Challenger Hellcat

This video does a wonderful job at showcasing how much performance cars have changed over time. It depicts a drag race between a Dodge Challenger Hellcat and a Tesla Model S P85D. That means a titan among muscle cars is racing against an electric powered car. The Charger puts out 707 horsepower while the Tesla creates 691 horsepower. It is a fair match-up, but just not at all a typical one.

The Tesla’s all wheel drive design pays off immediately as it launches from the line with minimal effort. Based on the performance of the Challenger, it is probably safe to say that the driver of the Dodge was not the best available. Either way, the impressive performance of the Tesla is fun to watch.
